Narrow Aisle Storage Racks
Narrow Aisle storage racks enable the use of selective pallet racking in a tight arrangement to provide maximum space utilization within a storage facility. The narrow aisle storage racks are used mainly for high volume and traffic areas, and these racking systems are the ideal choice for the optimal use of floor space in a storage warehouse that has a narrow aisle access and high density storage needs. In most of the cases, the narrow aisle racking is available in the same weight, height, and size configurations as the selective pallet racking.
Narrow aisle storage racks, also known as the Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) storage racks, is an effective method of increasing pallet storage with in a given area. The best part of the narrow aisle storage racks is that they come with the advantages of selective racking. In the narrow aisle storage racking, a special fork lift is required which can reduce the aisle space by around 40% compared to traditional fork lifts. One of the advantages with the narrow aisle storage racks is that you can still have 100 % product selectivity and a system which utilizes the vertical space for pallet storage. These systems typically operate in conjunction with wire-guided or rail-guided reach-truck systems. A wire-guided system consists of a wire embedded in the concrete floor that provides tracking for the reach-truck. A rail-guided system consists of angle iron bolted to the floor down the length of each row.
